Split Pay works with a debit card and your bank account:
Debit card — any Visa or Mastercard debit card. You add it when you set up Split Pay, and you can change it anytime under Account → Change Debit, in the app or at splitpay.com/account.
Bank account — connect your checking account through our secure bank connection.
Discover and credit cards aren't supported. If a Discover card is all you have, you can use a free Privacy.com virtual debit card — see How can I use Privacy.com if I only have a Discover card? or I don't have a Visa or Mastercard debit card. What are my options?.
How your method is used:
Your first payment comes from your debit card if you pay through a portal. If you pay your landlord directly, it comes from your bank account.
For your second payment, we'll automatically choose between your debit card and bank account to keep your payments running smoothly. Want to use a specific one? Pay on the Pay Now screen before your due date and choose it — see Can I choose which payment method is used for my second payment?.
