Will my payment process over a weekend or bank holiday?

It depends on how your payment moves. Debit card charges can run on weekends and holidays. Bank transfers move on business days only — a business day is any day that isn't a weekend or a federal bank holiday (including the observed Friday or Monday when a holiday falls on a weekend).

What that means for timing:

  • Card charges: if your portal, lender, or servicer sends us your payment request on a Saturday, we charge your card that day. First-payment card charges aren't attempted on Sundays. A second payment charged to your card can also run on a weekend or holiday.

  • Bank transfers: anything paid from your bank account, including direct rent payments, starts on the next business day.

  • Most weekend-adjacent payments run Monday.

What to do: keep your card funded from your scheduled date — and your bank account too, if you pay from it — until we confirm your payment went through. No need to reschedule anything.

If a Saturday card charge doesn't go through, fund your card and tap Retry Payment — you can retry until 2:45pm ET on Monday.

If you pay through a portal, lender, or servicer, your payment shows as paid there on the day they pull it, even if the money moves a little later.

Note: this applies to every federal bank holiday — Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, the 4th of July, and the rest.
