Look for a different option. Your Split Pay account and routing numbers don't work with portal flows that ask for your bank login credentials (your bank username and password).
What's happening:
Some portals offer two ways to add a bank account:
Manual entry — type in account number and routing number (this is what works with Split Pay)
Bank login credentials (via Plaid, Finicity, or similar) — sign into your bank with your bank username and password to auto-fill account details
Split Pay only works with manual entry. Our account and routing numbers aren't tied to a real bank login, so the bank login credentials flow can't authenticate them.
What to look for in your portal:
"Add bank account manually"
"Enter account and routing numbers"
"Skip and enter manually"
A small link below the bank login credentials button like "Don't see your bank?" or "Enter details instead"
If your portal only has the bank login credentials option:
That portal can't use Split Pay. Some portals exclusively use Plaid/Finicity for bank connections and don't allow manual entry. In that case:
Reach out to your portal/landlord — ask if they can enable manual ACH bank entry on your account
Use a different payment method for that portal (regular bank or debit card)
Consider using Split Pay for a different bill (mortgage, car loan, etc.) if rent isn't an option
Why we don't connect through bank login credentials:
Split Pay's account and routing numbers represent a real account at Evolve Bank & Trust. They work for any portal that accepts ACH manual entry. The bank login credentials flow is a service for sharing your real banking credentials — Split Pay isn't a credentialed bank you can log into, so bank login flows don't recognize it.
If you've tried entering manually and the portal still won't accept the numbers, contact our Support team — there may be a specific portal quirk we can help with.
