Why did Split Pay text me a code when I called Support?

That code is how we verify it's really you — and it's much faster than the old way. Instead of spelling out your email address and name over the phone, the agent sends a six-digit code by text to the phone number on your Split Pay account. You read it back, you're verified, and we can get straight into helping with your account.

A few things to know:

  • The code goes to the number on your account — so it doesn't matter what phone you're calling from, as long as you can check texts on your own phone.

  • You read the code to us — never the other way around. A real Split Pay agent will never tell you a code or ask you to confirm digits they read to you.

  • We only ever ask for a code when YOU call US. If someone calls you claiming to be Split Pay and asks for a code — hang up. It's not us. Codes read to a caller are how scammers break into accounts.

  • Can't get texts right now, or is the number on your account out of date? For your security we can't discuss account details on that call — but you can sign in and contact our Support team by chat (signing in verifies you instantly), and if your number changed, we can update it after a quick identity check.

No code needed for general questions — it's only for conversations about your specific account, payments, or eligibility.
