My phone number is from outside the US — why am I not getting login codes?

Some carriers outside the US block SMS from short codes (like the 5-digit number we send codes from), which can prevent Split Pay codes from reaching your phone.

A few things to try first:

  1. Make sure your number is saved with the country code (e.g., +44 for UK)

  2. Text the word START (in all caps) to 57439 from your phone — this activates the messaging connection

  3. Save 57439 as a contact in your phone

If those don't work, your carrier is most likely blocking US short codes. The fastest fix is to contact your carrier and ask them to allow SMS from US short codes.

If that's not an option, you may need to use a US-based phone number with your Split Pay account.
