I accidentally created two Split Pay accounts. How do I fix it?

You'll need to consolidate down to one — Split Pay only allows one account per person. Which account you keep depends on whether either one has Split Pay account and routing numbers (the kind you'd use in a portal, lender, or mortgage servicer):

If one account has Split Pay account and routing numbers, you must keep that one. Those numbers are permanently tied to the account where they were created and can't be moved. Log into the account without the account/routing numbers and delete it from Account Settings.

If neither account has Split Pay account and routing numbers, you can choose which one to keep. The other one gets deleted from its Account Settings.

A few important things to know:

  • Transaction history doesn't transfer. Take screenshots of anything you want to keep before deleting.

  • Your Split Pay eligibility follows your Social Security Number, not your account. Whichever account you keep, your eligibility status stays with you.

  • If you pay through a portal, lender, or mortgage servicer with the account you're deleting, you must remove that saved Split Pay payment method on their side too — see the dedicated FAQ for portal/lender/servicer customers.

If you accidentally delete the wrong account, contact support — we can usually help you recover it.
