How do I delete my Split Pay account if I pay through a portal, lender, or mortgage servicer?

You can delete your account from your account page in the Split Pay app or website by tapping "Delete my account" — but you also need to delete the saved Split Pay payment method on your portal, lender, or mortgage servicer's side.

Here's why: your Split Pay account and routing numbers are saved as a payment method in your portal, lender, or mortgage servicer. Deleting your Split Pay account does not remove that saved payment method on their end. If you skip this step, the next time they try to charge your Split Pay account, the payment will be rejected as an ACH error and you may face late fees on their end.

The steps:

  1. Go into your portal, lender, or mortgage servicer and remove the saved Split Pay payment method — look for the account that uses your Split Pay account number.

  2. Set up a different payment method with your portal, lender, or servicer to avoid missing your next bill.

  3. Then delete your Split Pay account from the app or website.

You also can't delete your account if you have a payment in progress or overdue — wait until those clear first.

If you want to come back later, sign up again with the same email. Your transaction history restores, and the same Split Pay account and routing numbers come back live. You'll still need to redo identity verification, reconnect a payment method in Split Pay, and reapply for Split Pay.
