Why hasn't my portal payment processed yet?

If you've connected Split Pay to your portal and you're not seeing a charge yet, that's usually expected — your portal (not Split Pay) controls when the payment gets pulled, and there's a built-in lag before your card is charged.

Here's how it works:

  • You schedule your payment in your portal with your Split Pay account and routing numbers as the payment method.

  • On or near your due date, your portal marks the payment as paid — but it's not paid yet.

  • It takes 1–3 business days for your portal's bank to send us the actual payment request. The moment we receive it, we charge your debit card for the first payment and send the full amount.

So if your due date is the 1st and you don't see a Split Pay charge yet, that's normal — either your portal hasn't pulled yet, or the request is still on its way from your portal's bank.

What you should do:

  • Keep your debit card funded until you get confirmation from Split Pay that your card has been charged — not just the confirmation from your portal. The two can be 1–3 business days apart.

  • Watch for the email from Split Pay confirming the charge.

  • If the charge ever fails, you'll always get a chance to fix it and retry — your notification will say exactly how long you have.

If your due date has passed by more than 3 business days and you still haven't seen any activity, contact our Support team and we'll check what's happening on our end.
