When will my card be charged for my portal payment?

Your debit card is charged twice per portal payment cycle.

Charge 1: First Split Pay payment — after your portal sends us the request

When your portal pulls your rent, it covers the full amount and shows the payment as made. We then charge your debit card for the first installment (or whatever your approved percentage is) once your portal sends us the actual payment request — typically 1–2 business days after your portal shows the payment as paid. For example, if your portal shows the payment as paid on the 1st, we usually receive the request and charge your card around the 2nd. Keep your card funded from your due date until you get our confirmation that the first charge went through.

Charge 2: Second Split Pay payment — about 14 days later

The second installment is automatically charged to your debit card about 14 days after your first Split Pay charge. It attempts at 7am ET first, then 7pm ET if the first attempt fails. You’ll get an email reminder before the second charge with the exact date.

Want to know exactly when your next charge is?

  • Open the Split Pay app — your upcoming payments are shown with exact dates.
  • Check your confirmation email after your first Split Pay payment processes — it’ll list your second payment date.

A few things that can shift the timing:

  • Weekends and holidays: charges scheduled for non-business days typically process the next business day.
  • First Split Pay payment fails: Split Pay will retry. See What happens if my second Split Pay payment keeps failing?.
  • You changed your second payment date through the Split Pay app — the new date applies.

If you want to pay earlier: you can pay your second Split Pay payment early at any time through the app. No fee for paying early.
