Your direct payment processes on the date you scheduled it — but only on business days, and through the once-a-day ACH cutoff at 4pm Eastern Time.
A few important things about timing:
- Business days only. ACH (the banking network that moves the money) doesn’t run on weekends or bank holidays. If your scheduled date lands on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, your payment processes on the next business day — not the date itself.
- 4pm ET cutoff. Payments run once a day at 4pm ET. On a business day, your payment processes that day at the 4pm ET run, so make sure your bank account has the funds available before 4pm ET.
- You might see a confirmation email earlier in the day, but the actual charge doesn’t hit until the 4pm ET run.
Once it processes, your rent arrives at your landlord within 3–5 business days.
