Yes — Split Pay works as a direct replacement for Zelle. Instead of Zelle, you'd pay your landlord directly through Split Pay. If you're approved for Split Pay, we cover your full rent upfront and you pay part now, with the rest due two weeks later. You can also choose to pay in full through Split Pay — your landlord gets a secure way to collect rent and you're eligible for free Credit Reporting.
Here's how to get set up:
Enter your property address and create your Split Pay account.
Tell us your monthly rent amount and how you'd like to pay — Split Pay (part now, rest in two weeks, subject to eligibility) or Full.
Connect your bank account through Plaid.
Provide your landlord's email or phone number. They'll get a message explaining that you want to pay through Split Pay and will be guided through connecting their bank account. Give them a heads-up to expect a notification from Split Pay — they'll need to accept the payment before it goes through.
Once your landlord accepts, your payments will process automatically. We'll send you confirmation when payments are sent and when your landlord receives them.
You can only use one method at a time — once you're set up on Split Pay, you won't pay your landlord through Zelle anymore.
