What information should I have ready before I start?

A few things in arm's reach makes verification go faster:

Government ID (any one of these):

  • US passport

  • Driver's license (current, not temporary)

  • State-issued ID (current, not temporary)

Your personal info, exactly as it appears on your ID:

  • Full legal name (including middle name, suffixes like Jr./Sr.)

  • Date of birth

  • Current address (including apartment/unit number)

A phone where you can receive a verification text

A camera-capable device — most people use the same phone for everything

A well-lit room for the document photos and selfie:

  • Daylight or a well-lit indoor space works best

  • Avoid shadows, glare, and reflections

  • For the selfie: no hat, sunglasses, or filters

Helpful tips:

  • Set everything up before you start — verification can time out if you take too long

  • Type your info exactly as it appears on your ID (small mismatches cause failures)

  • For ID photos: lay it flat, all four corners visible, no fingers blocking text

This usually takes 2–5 minutes total if you have everything ready.
