What if my tenant can't or doesn't want to use Split Pay?

If a tenant can't use Split Pay — either because they were denied or they're not interested — they'll need to pay you outside of Split Pay. We don't offer a non-Split Pay payment option on our platform.

Common alternatives tenants use:

  • Zelle

  • Their bank's bill pay

  • Check or money order

  • A property management portal, if you use one

  • Baselane (see below)

For landlords who want a more comprehensive solution, we recommend Baselane — they're our partner. They handle rent collection, banking, and bookkeeping, and ACH transfers from tenants are free if you use a Baselane banking account.

The good part: Split Pay-eligible tenants can still pay you with Split Pay through Baselane, using the account and routing numbers Split Pay provides. So Baselane works alongside Split Pay, not instead of it.
