To use Split Pay, you'll need:

  • A valid US bank account with at least one debit card you can use with Split Pay (Visa or Mastercard — Discover isn't supported)

  • Your identity verified — name, date of birth, address

  • A landlord, lender, or servicer that accepts ACH payments (most do — some, like Zillow Rental Portal, don't)

  • Approval based on your financial profile

Beyond that, eligibility is based on factors like deposit consistency, account balances, and payment history. You can apply for free in a couple of minutes — you'll find out right away if you're approved and exactly what your split looks like.

A few specific notes:

  • TD Bank isn't currently supported for applying. If you have a different bank, you can use that instead. See the FAQ on Why doesn't TD Bank work with Split Pay?.

  • You only need one of: rent, mortgage, or car loan to use Split Pay. The mechanics are similar across all three.

Applying doesn't affect your credit score and doesn't commit you to anything. You can decide to use it (or not) after you see your approval.
