Will my payment process over a holiday weekend, like July 4th?

Payments don't process on weekends or federal holidays — anything scheduled to pull during a holiday window starts processing on the next business day. For the 4th of July this year, payments scheduled for July 3, 4, or 5 will begin processing Monday, July 6.

Why: payments move through the U.S. banking system, which doesn't run on weekends or federal bank holidays. In 2026, July 4 is a Saturday, so the holiday is observed Friday, July 3 — with the weekend right after, that's three days (July 3–5) where nothing moves.

What it means for timing: once processing resumes on July 6, it can still take 1–3 business days for a payment to fully land, so expect it a little later that week. This holds whether you pay your landlord directly or through a portal, lender, or servicer.

Your rent, mortgage or car loan payment will likely show as paid on its scheduled date (July 3, 4, 5), but you most likely will not see any payment processing begin from Split Pay until July 6. This is expected. Your balance will display to your landlord or portal as paid, but money won’t start moving until July 6 or 7.

What to do: keep your account funded before July 3 so your payment is ready the moment processing resumes (most likely July 6 or 7th) — no need to reschedule anything.

Note: this applies to every federal holiday, not just the 4th of July.
