What format does my lease, mortgage statement, or auto loan documentation need to be in?

Acceptable formats: PDF, JPG, or PNG. Max file size: 10MB.

What works:

  • A PDF of your full document — your lease, mortgage statement, or auto loan documentation (most common)

  • Photos of a paper document — JPG or PNG of each page, taken with your phone

What doesn't work:

  • Screenshots of a PDF — we need the full PDF, not a screenshot of one page

  • Word documents — convert to PDF first

  • Files over 10MB — break into multiple uploads (one page per file is fine)

  • Partial documents — we need every page, including the signature page (for leases) or the full statement (for mortgages and auto loans)

  • Other people's documents — yours specifically

If you have a multi-page paper document: take a clear photo of each page in good lighting, then upload them one at a time. The system accepts multiple files per upload session.

If your document is too large: most phones let you compress PDFs (look for "compress" or "reduce file size" options when sharing). Or split it into separate uploads — each page as its own file.

If your lease is digital and signed through DocuSign or similar: download the signed PDF from your DocuSign account and upload that. Don't share the DocuSign link with us.

For mortgage statements and auto loan documentation: the most recent statement from your lender or servicer (showing your name, account number, and current monthly payment amount) is what we need. You can usually download this directly from your lender or servicer's portal.
