My mortgage or car payment amount changed — do I need to update Split Pay?

No — in most cases nothing changes for you. Split Pay follows what your servicer actually requests each month and splits the new amount automatically, within two simple limits:

  • Your approved amount is the ceiling. A request at or below your approved Split Pay amount splits as usual. A request above your approved amount won't split.

  • About 20% below your plan amount is the floor. If a request comes in more than 20% below the payment you set your split up for, we treat it as a one-time payment — it's sent to your servicer in full and charged to you in full, with no split and no second payment. Your bill still gets paid on time; it just isn't split that month.

Everyday changes — an escrow adjustment, a rate change, an overage credit — almost always land inside those limits, so your new amount splits with no action needed from you. Your servicer requests the new amount, and Split Pay splits it.

If your payment has changed for good — enough to fall outside those limits — the cleanest fix is updating your split to match your real bill: contact our Support team and we'll get it matched up.
